Experience Design
Digital experiences where technology and creativity aren't separate disciplines. Websites, platforms, AI products and the systems behind them, built end to end by one person.
01
Two ways to work together
Experience Sprint
A premium digital experience for one product, brand or space: concept, UX/UI, motion, 3D and sound where they earn their place, built and launched. Three to four weeks.
Product Partner
Founder-level design and build, two to three days a week, three-month minimum, for a team that needs a product or platform built end to end without hiring four people.
Projects are scoped and priced individually; it starts with a call.
Partnexa International
A premium responsive website for a global partnerships platform: UX/UI, visual treatment, animation, logo animation, forms, lead capture, map and LinkedIn integration. Designed and built end to end, delivered inside the agreed window.
ZAXIA
An AI operations platform for hotels: in-room concierge on TV and mobile, staff operations dashboard, and Green Stay, which turns guests' sustainability choices into real operational events and measured impact. Conceived, designed and built from the first sketch through product development, largely alone, over a year.

One person, no hand-offs. Twenty years in sound, broadcast operations and the systems behind Discovery, Sony, Disney, BBC and FOX, then a unit of 120 engineers building software for BMW. Now: products, platforms and experiences, end to end.
Founders building a product.
Brands and hospitality businesses whose digital experience should match the real one.
Studios and agencies that need senior creative-technology capacity without a hire.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE
This website is operated by Miguel Rodrigues, working as Miguel Rodrigues Experience Design, in Portugal. I am the controller of the personal information described here, and you can reach me at contact@miguelrodrigues.design.
WHAT I COLLECT
Only what you type into one of the three forms on this site, plus one technical measure that keeps the forms from being flooded — described under Security. There is no account, no login, no profiling and no tracking of any kind, except as described under Booking a call in the Cookies section.
Send a Message asks for your name, your email address and your message.
Start Your Project — the guided briefing — asks first about the project: what you want to create, what success would look like, where you are starting from, and your timeline and budget. It then asks for your name and email address. Company, website, phone and how you found me are optional, and are marked as optional. Two fields are free text: an optional note, and the brief itself, which you can read and edit before you send it.
The Brand Synthesizer asks, before it gives you a file, for your name, your email address and a rating from one to five stars. A comment is optional, and is marked as optional. With them it records which artwork you were taking — its creation code, the shape of page it was set for and the file you asked for first — and none of that identifies you.
Everything else you do in the Brand Synthesizer stays on your device. The name you type to make an artwork, any image you bring, the moments you hold and the recording you make are worked on by your own browser and are never uploaded — not to me, and not to anyone else.
WHY, AND ON WHAT BASIS
I use it to read your enquiry, reply to you, and talk about the work. That is processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Keeping the correspondence afterwards, as a record of who has approached me and about what, rests on my legitimate interest in running my practice — Article 6(1)(f).
Your name, your email address and some description of what you need are necessary: without them I cannot reply. Everything else is optional, and the form tells you so.
The Brand Synthesizer's form tells me who uses it and what they think of it, and lets me answer a comment or a suggestion. That rests on my legitimate interest in knowing who uses my work and in improving it — Article 6(1)(f). Your name, email address and rating are the condition for taking a file: without them you can still use everything in the Brand Synthesizer, but its files stay there. They are never used for marketing or added to a mailing list, and you can object, or ask me to delete them, at any time.
WHERE IT GOES
When you press send, your submission travels over an encrypted connection to a server function that checks it, saves it to a database, and sends me a notification by email. That is all that happens to it. There is no CRM, no mailing list, no automated decision-making, and I do not sell, rent or share it with anyone.
Two copies then exist: the database record, and the email in my inbox.
WHO PROCESSES IT FOR ME
Vercel, which hosts this website.
Supabase, which provides the database and the server function that receives your submission.
Namecheap Private Email, which delivers the notification to me.
Each acts only on my instructions. There is no one else.
WHERE IT IS PROCESSED
What you send through a form goes straight from your browser to the server function that receives it, and the database that stores it is hosted in the European Union (Ireland). It does not pass through the web host on the way.
Vercel serves this website — the pages, the images, the video and the audio — so it sees the requests your browser makes for those, but never the contents of a form. The notification email is delivered by Namecheap Private Email, whose mail servers are in the United States, so the copy that reaches my inbox is held there. Namecheap and Supabase have both agreed, in their data processing agreements with me, to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which cover transfers of your information outside the European Economic Area. You can ask me for a copy. If you want to know where a particular step happens, ask me and I will find out and tell you.
HOW LONG I KEEP IT
I keep an enquiry for 24 months after our last contact about it, and then delete it — both the database record and the email. If a longer period is needed to meet a legal or contractual obligation, I keep it for as long as that obligation lasts, and no longer.
You do not have to wait for that. You can ask me to delete yours at any time.
A Brand Synthesizer form is kept for 24 months after you send it, and then deleted — both the database record and the email — or sooner, whenever you ask.
One honest caveat: my database provider keeps its own backups, so a copy can survive there for a while after I delete the record, until those backups age out.
SECURITY
To stop the forms being flooded, the server counts how many submissions have recently come from your connection. It works this out from your IP address, which it never stores: the address is turned into a one-way fingerprint, and only that fingerprint is kept, only for about an hour, and only to hold that count. It cannot be turned back into your address, and it is used for nothing else.
The database cannot be read or written from your browser. Access is closed at the database level, and every write happens on the server. Submissions travel over TLS. The credentials that allow those writes exist only on the server and never appear in this website's code.
WHAT YOUR BROWSER STORES
This site sets no cookies. What it keeps in your own browser is small, and none of it identifies you:
Your language, so the site opens the way you left it. This persists until you clear it.
An unfinished briefing, so that closing the panel by accident does not lose your answers. It is held only for the life of the browser tab, and it is cleared when you send the brief. It deliberately does not keep your name, email address, company, website or phone number. It does keep your answers about the project, including the two free-text fields — so if you type personal details into those, that text is held in your own browser until the tab closes.
Whether you have filled in the Brand Synthesizer's form, so that you are not asked again. It is a single yes — not your name and not your email address — and it persists until you clear it.
And your sound preferences, if you ever use the keyboard shortcuts that change how the site sounds.
None of these is a cookie, none is used to identify or follow you, and none is sent anywhere.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to what I do with it, or to receive it in a portable form. Write to contact@miguelrodrigues.design and I will answer as quickly as I can, and within one month at the latest.
If you believe I have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
Terms & Conditions
ABOUT THIS SITE
This is the portfolio and studio site of Miguel Rodrigues, working as Miguel Rodrigues Experience Design, in Portugal. It exists to show work and to let you get in touch. Everything on it is provided for information.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The design, the code, the writing, the images, the video, the audio, the music and the three-dimensional experience itself are protected by copyright.
Work made for clients remains the property of those clients and appears here, with their permission, as a record of my contribution to it. Everything else belongs to me.
You are welcome to look at all of it. Please do not copy, download, republish, redistribute or reuse any of it — including as material for training machine-learning models — without written permission. The one exception is what you make yourself in the Brand Synthesizer, described below.
THE BRAND SYNTHESIZER
What you make in the Brand Synthesizer is yours. The files you take from it — prints, loops, drawings, kits and recordings — may be used for any purpose, including commercially, and I claim no rights in them. The Brand Synthesizer itself — its design, its code and the way it composes — remains mine.
Its sounds and textures come from recordings and materials dedicated to the public domain (CC0) or released for use without restriction, and its typefaces are licensed under the SIL Open Font License. Neither limits what you do with your files.
Anything you bring into it to make an artwork — a name, an image — must be yours to use, or used with permission. It stays in your browser and is never sent to me.
I do not check what the Brand Synthesizer makes against existing trademarks, logos or designs. Before you register a file as a trademark, or rely on it as one, make sure it is free to use.
To take a file you are asked once for your name, your email address and a rating. Privacy & Data explains what happens to them.
LINKS AND EMBEDDED EXPERIENCES
Parts of this site link to, or embed, websites run by other people. I do not control them and I am not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your information.
ENQUIRIES
Sending a message or a project brief begins a conversation. It does not create a contract, it does not oblige me to take the work on, and it does not oblige you to go ahead. Any engagement would be agreed separately, in writing.
Please do not send confidential information, or personal details about other people, through the forms on this site. If your project needs that, say so and we will find a better way to talk about it.
AVAILABILITY
This is an experience that runs in your browser, and it depends on your device, your browser and your connection. I cannot guarantee that it is always available, or that it behaves identically everywhere.
ACCEPTABLE USE
Please do not attempt to disrupt this site, send automated or abusive traffic through its forms, or extract its content in bulk.
LIABILITY
I take care to keep this site accurate and working, but I do not warrant that it is free of errors or interruptions. Nothing here limits or excludes liability in any way the law does not allow.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by Portuguese law.

Cookies
The Atelier — this room, and everything in it — uses no cookies at all.
There are no analytics cookies, no advertising or tracking cookies, no social media cookies, and no third-party scripts that set them, except as described under Booking a call below. Nothing here profiles you or follows you between sites, and analytics remain off. You are still not asked to dismiss a consent banner: the Atelier sets nothing at all, and the only cookies anywhere on this site are the ones Cal.com's scheduler needs in order to run.
BOOKING A CALL
On the /work page, the "Book a call" button opens a scheduling window provided by Cal.com (Cal.com, Inc.). Nothing is loaded from Cal.com until you move to use that button; at that moment Cal.com's script loads and its infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) sets one cookie, __cf_bm, used only to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic. If you go on to book, the details you enter (name, email, and what you're building) are sent to Cal.com to create the booking and to Miguel Rodrigues Experience Design to hold it. Nothing is used for advertising. If you'd rather not load it, write to contact@miguelrodrigues.design and we'll book by email. Cal.com's privacy policy: cal.com/privacy
A little is kept in your own browser, only so the site works the way you would expect:
LANGUAGE
Your chosen language, so the site opens the way you left it. It persists until you clear it.
BRIEFING DRAFT
An unfinished Start Your Project briefing, so that closing the panel does not lose your answers. It lasts only as long as the browser tab, and it is cleared when you send. It does not keep your name, email address, company, website or phone number. It does keep your answers about the project, including anything you typed into the two free-text fields.
BRAND SYNTHESIZER
Whether you have filled in the Brand Synthesizer's form, so that you are not asked again. A single yes, not your details. It persists until you clear it.
AUDIO PREFERENCES
Your sound settings, if you ever use the keyboard shortcuts that change how the site sounds. Most visitors never create these.
None of this is a cookie, none of it leaves your browser, and none of it identifies you. You can clear it all at any time in your browser's settings for this site.
One thing worth naming: the ZAXIA project experience embeds the live zaxia.ai website inside the cube. While that is open, the embedded site is delivered by its own operator and may use storage of its own, which this notice does not cover.
If analytics or tracking are ever added to this site, this section will say so before they are, and consent will be asked for wherever it is required.
